This weekend we were looking for something to do so we took our granddaughter to the art exhibit at Maui Arts and Cultural Center. They were featuring a young artist Wes Bruce and his unique blend of recycled materials from old building, junk from garages all over Maui. What this artist created was a maze or fort made out of pallets and old junk. Each room had a theme like the goat room, the picture room, then there was climbing rooms for the kids.
What was great about this exhibit it was hands on and fun for the whole family. There was also a room for kids to create art out of left over junk, I even gave it a go.
You can see in the photo that Wes Bruce used old lumber, photos and just about anything that might have been laying around someone’s home and dump pile.
All in all it was a great day at Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Taken by Wonder is running till Nov 2nd, a great event for a date or just bring the family. There is something for everyone at this exhibit. My granddaughter Makenna and I had a great time. My wife is an artist so she just loved the exhibit.
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center features great artist and concerts so a trip to the MACC is a must when visiting Maui. You can go online to see all events at the MACC.
