Maui’s Northshore windsurfing capital is a unique island experience. Not only does Maui have fabulous wind and wave conditions but I laughed when I heard it called the Bohemian experience. Kanaha Beach on any given windy days the sky if full of Kite’s flying. This is an area I really enjoy windsurfing at Lowers at Kanaha. At Kanaha you will find a very friendly crew of windsurfers and kiters ready to great you with a smile or to help you out with a little local knowledge.
When spring arrives, and the trade winds are blowing it’s just the most perfect time of year. The windsurfing season on Maui is officially on. On Maui’s Northshore we had a great winter of light winds, good surf, and a mild winter. I just returned from three weeks in New Zealand to rain and heavy winds. Today the sun it back and the winds are perfect for a day of windsurfing. I was just telling my wife its time to break out the windsurfing gear for spring.
