Do you really want to sell your Maui home now?

There are so many reasons that you might be entertaining selling your home on Maui. Many people that call Maui home for different reasons decide to move on to greener pastures.  For some folks, there getting older and just maybe there looking at down sizing to a smaller property, or a retirement home.  Then again maybe you have family in the mainland and it’s more important at this point in your life to surround your self with family. Lucky for me most of my family, kids and grandkids live on Maui.

But you have to consider life’s is always changing, what worked yesterday doesn’t always line up tomorrow with your plans. So you have made the decision to sell your home or condo on Maui, what do I do next. Number one is to look at current market conditions, how will it effect selling my Maui home in the current market. Lets say you didn’t buy your home at the height of the market.  This is a good thing, most likely you were able to ride the Maui real estate market up on the recovery of the economy.

You really need to pay attention to recent sales in your local neighborhoods.  If you want to sell your home in Maui, pricing is really important.  If you price it right it should move pretty quick in a good market, especially if there is low inventory.

The next thing to consider is the condition of your home.  What improvements can I make that will enhance the buyers experience when he first walks into your home.  Fresh paint and flooring is always pretty inexpensive and creates a good look.  I know you love all your family pictures on the wall, and collection of shells displayed through out the house.  But you really need to remove personal items and give it a fresh clean look. Staging is always a good idea, maybe hire a professional stager to create that inviting look about your home.
