Well the Aloha Classic got under way yesterday with excellent conditions at Hookipa Beach Park on Maui. Hookipa Beach is known around the world for great surf and the windsurfing capital of the world. The best windsurfers in the world are gathering for a twelve day event. The first day they completed round one, with a couple of Maui local rippers advancing to round three. Matt Pritchard and Levi Shiver where a couple round one winners to advance to round three. Monday the surf is expected to get waves in the overhead range and hopefully the winds will come through for some exciting actions as the best windsurfers in the world battle it out for top honors.
With the light winds the surf has been really fun, love getting out early for a morning surf at Hookipa. So I hope you enjoy the footage I shot. I will be trying to shoot some more action as the wind and surf picks up.
If you happen to be looking for a home or condo on Maui? I work with Island Sotheby’s Int’l Realty. Maui has been my home for over 41 years where I love to surf and windsurf. If your looking for surf and windsurfing rentals Hi-Tech Maui is a great place to rent equipment or for lessons. They have a staff of ex-pro windsurfers and waterman to help you with all your needs in the surf.
If your looking for state of the art windsurfing gear? Goya is the name for state of the art sailboards and windsurfing sails, you will find them in the cannery in Haiku. Ask for Francisco Goya,or Pascal both super nice guys that will help you find the right equipment to keep you ripping in the surf.
So hope you enjoy the contest at the Aloha Classic. Give me a call if you have any questions about Maui real estate.
