Windsurfing on Maui’s Northshore Winter 2012
Windsurfing on Maui’s North-shore is a hugh sport. Hookipa is the Mecca of windsurfing, for me its my back yard. As we head into summer on Maui we still are experiencing waves with east swells. A lot of windsurfers and kiters enjoy our summer season of sailing. Lately it has brought a lot of strong easterly winds to Maui’s North-shore. I took a lunch break today and sailed in 30 mph winds at Kanaha, winds were steady and super fun.
The summer crew is starting to show up on the north shore. On any given day you will see stand up paddlers making coast runs from Maliko Gulch paddling down the coast past Hookipa Beach Park to Kanaha.
Maui is a gathering place for windsurfer and kitesurfers from around the world. I have to say I enjoy meeting people from all over the world that journey to Maui. If you are thinking about traveling to Maui, I have a licensed 2-bedroom cottage in Haiku Maui, so keep it in mind. It has a 5-star rating on vrbo.
If you happen to be thinking about buying a home or condo on Maui. I been selling real estate on Maui for over 22 years. The north shore has been my home for over 40 years, so feel free to ask me about real estate on Maui.
