Maui Strong is the banner for raising support for Maui fire victims.
Maui has had major fires in Upcountry Kula Maui, and Lahaina Town which suffered serious damage, and loss of life. The Maui community has really stepped up to help those in need. But we also have seen an outpouring from around the world to help Maui families, and businesses, One such town has been San Clemente, California. Who has done fundraisers, gathered supplies, and shipped a number of containers to come to the aid of Lahaina fire victims.
I heard another story today from a church in Colorado that raised $18,000 to send to Maui for Maui families. Or a container sent from South Korea full of toys for the kids in Lahaina. What I have been seeing on Maui is a community of people working 24/7 to serve the community of Lahaina and other areas affected by the fires on Maui.
We also have seen stories of bravery, individuals, and people working together to save lives. Or after the fires when the roads were closed to Lahaina, groups were formed to deliver goods by boats and jet ski delivering supplies to those stranded in Lahaina, all the way up to Kapalua. This was before any government assistance arrived. Maui locals took it upon themselves with the Maui community donating supplies to reach fire victims.
So now we have government agencies rolling out their support, which everyone is thankful to see. The local community is still very active through churches, volunteers, surfers(delivering goods on jet skis when the road was closed), and people across the state coming to the aid of Maui. It’s going to be a long road to recovery. If you feel like you would like to support Maui recovery efforts you can donate to #mauistrong. Visit Maui, and support Maui businesses and families. If you would like to donate to the Firemen Fun, or to Families let me know and I can provide you with G0-Fundme links.
