Makena Beach is one of the most stunning beach communities in the world. My kids were born and raised in Maui. When they were kids, Makena was just a dirt road, a few homes on the beach and no hotels. You can imagine how it’s changed, but it’s a world destination offering natural beauty.
Off the shore of Makena, you have the islands of Kahoolawe and Molokini that you see from Big Beach and along the oceanfront in Makena. Makena also offers amazing offshore diving, with plenty of turtles in the water. My wife and I often stand up Paddle during the whale season.
